Spring 2019 Update!

CDGC Spring 2019 Update!

Refinery Park usage agreement secured!
The Refinery Park Disc Golf course was closed almost 4 years ago to allow for soil  remediation to be completed.  We are very happy to announce that it will reopen this summer!  We will soon be installing 18 targets, to be replaced by 18 baskets once the layout has been finalized. We have been working with the City of Calgary and now have a usage agreement in place. This is very exciting news that the disc golf community has been waiting for and we look forward to getting back into this fantastic park which will also be home to a future LRT station on the new Green Line. Thanks for everyone’s support and patience.  Stay tuned for our opening date!

Calgary Voted as Runner-up for Best Worldwide Disc Golf Cities!
Udisc has announced the Top 5 cities worldwide for disc golf based on number of holes available to play and quality of courses, and we are pleased to announce that Calgary has been given an honorable mention! This is a huge feather in the CDGC cap as 10 years ago we were in jeopardy of losing all public courses in the city.  Thanks to the relentless work of the CDGC and our Members, we have been able to make these new courses a reality.  Club memberships have been key to our success as it all comes down to Club Membership numbers to allow us to have a strong voice with the local City of Calgary Parks Department.  If you are not currently a Member, please consider supporting the CDGC!       Click for link to article on Udisc

Membership also brings other things to the table that are important to the development of disc golf in Calgary. The more members we have, the stronger voice the Club has with the City of Calgary. That means the potential to add more and better courses throughout the City, it also allows us to maintain and add to the current courses in the City with such things as tee pads, signage, garbage cans, benches, etc.  All membership funds are used for Calgary disc golf courses and expenses.
