The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Disc Golf Team achieved some history this month, becoming the first Canadian team to compete in the USA Intercollegiate Disc Golf Championship by attending the Northwest Qualifier at Estacada, Ore., Mar. 2-3.
The U of L placed fifth out of six teams in the Advanced classification as host Oregon State University and Humboldt State University advanced to the national championships in Augusta, GA.
The three-round qualifier saw the U of L struggle early in singles play but respond nicely in doubles action on the second day of the competition, tying for second place with an 89, just five strokes back of champion OSU. Full results can be found here.
The Horns team consists of Kevin King, Mike Woolf, Tyler Kiefer and Matt Mitten. Craig Burrows-Johnson coaches the squad.
