As we are all aware the popularity of Disc Golf has skyrocketed in the last 18 months, accelerated by Covid-19, given the appeal to outdoor, family recreation and the relatively inexpensive cost.
Because of the increase of interest our current courses are becoming incredibly popular, we have been working in collaboration with the City of Calgary Parks and Recreation department and we are extremely excited to introduce a temporary Disc Golf course to Big Marlborough Park in the NE.
Big Marlborough Disc Golf Course is the first of its kind, the first known course in Canada to have been created predominantly by female volunteers and players.
With the aid of the wider female disc golf community as well as the support from the Calgary Disc Golf Club male players, amateur disc golfer Melissa Bright and experienced River Dog player Amber Hayward have been working exceptionally hard to bring this temporary course to life.
This temporary 12 hole tree covered course was designed to safely fulfill the recreational needs of children, women, beginners and families in the community. We anticipate the course to be playable by early April, 2021.
More details regarding an opening event and upcoming clinics will be posted soon.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Melissa and Amber directly.
Thank you.
