2024 Mentorship Program

Have you ever thought to yourself “Gee, I wish I had someone to show me how I could do this better,” as you watch your tee shot veer off into the trees, or your putt ring off the basket? Well, you’re in luck, as the CDGC is proud to offer its summer mentorship program once again this year!
Running from Jul. 14/24 through Sep. 14/24, the mentorship program is open to everyone, whether you’re brand new to the sport or have been playing for years. Join as a mentor and share your love of the game, skills, tips and tricks, or join as a mentee and benefit from the experiences (and learn from the mistakes) of other disc golfers from the community who have a passion for the sport to share!
Beginner and intermediate mentees can expect to improve their scores, increase their confidence on the course, gain distance, and of course, expand their disc golf network!
Intermediate and advanced players can expect to develop their leadership and coaching skills, give back to the disc golf community they love, and maybe even learn a thing or two themselves from the fresh-eyed approach to the game of their mentees!
There are no limitations on participation – you can be both a mentor and a mentee if you wish as well!

All registrations are on a first-come-first serve basis and require a current CDGC membership. (Non-members can join here!) We will do our very best to pair all mentees with a mentor, but registration does fill up very quickly!
The deadline for registration is July 10th. Pairings will be emailed out no later than the end of day on Jul. 13th. Questions about the CDGC Mentorship Program can be directed to Chelsea Sutton.
2024 Beginner & Intermediate Clinics
The Calgary Disc Golf Club is very pleased to offer disc golf skill clinics for both beginners and intermediate players! Learn from experienced local players and improve your skills. Bring your family or some friends along, all ages are welcome.
These clinics are free for existing CGDC members, and only $10 for non-members!
Beginner-friendly discs will be provided, but of course you are absolutely welcome to bring your own.

May 30 @ Bonavista Downs
Jun. 12 @ Edgemont
Jun. 27 @ Lifesport (this clinic also includes a discount on disc purchases at Lifesport on the day of the event)
Jul. 24 @ Thorncliffe
Aug. 7 @ Big Marlborough
Aug. 22 @ Bonavista Downs
Intermediate clinic dates & locations:
Jul. 10 @ Currie Reservoir
Sep. 4 @ Big Marlborough
All clinics will run from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
2-for-1 Disc Exchange
The 2-for-1 Disc Exchange program was created to help grow the sport and expand disc golf in Calgary. The ongoing purpose of this program is to raise enough money to purchase new baskets for the community. This program is principally run through the Calgary Disc Golf Disc Exchange group on Facebook.
Below you will find the link to the excel sheet which will list the discs we have. In the sheet there are 3 tabs at the bottom:
-‘Discs 2-1’ (the 2 for 1 program)
-‘Discs BIN/Auction’ (these discs we are only accepting cash for. The ones in red have been pulled for auction and will be updated with a link when we put them up)
-‘Sleepy scale’ (this is a rating system used to describe the condition of the disc)
You trade any 2 of your discs for 1 from the program. If you can’t part with any of your discs, you can pay cash for the asking price on the list. Any discs highlighted in red have already been spoken for.
After joining the Facebook group (see the link above), comment on the post with the disc # you would like and if you wish to trade or pay cash. This will create a timestamp and we can operate on a first come first serve basis.
